By Amy Boyle in amy boyle photography davis workshops nelson nv ghost town roadtrip

My annual trip to the WPPI conference in Las Vegas is always a wonderful time. This year it was even better. 30+ photographers grabbed a coach to the Ghost town in Nelson, NV to take part in a Bob & Dawn Davis shooting workshop. We had the most gorgeous day with fun and fabulous models in the most brilliant of backgrounds.

Take a look, agree?

A lovely evening reception was just that for Tracy and Tom as they celebrated their vows. Attended by so many family and friends, the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the new couple beamed.

Beautiful flowers and lovely lighting at Cafe La Cave

It's always wonderful to see past clients at a wedding - Here's Lauren with Tracy. Lauren and Neil were married in June of 2011!

When you do what you LOVE, share it!

By Amy Boyle in teaching photography lessons photography camps

This year ABP started something new, teaching. It began this summer with a Summer Camp for kids aged 10 -15. A week long camp called Through the eyes of a child. The daily lessons taught the campers the basics of digital photography and composition. One of the highlights for each camper was the three different photography field trips. We made use of amazing backdrops Chicago has to offer and learned about how to better capture what they see with their cameras.

In the fall, I began teaching an after school program for students in grades 3-8. With 11 students currently enrolled in the 10 week program we are able to really spend time learning color, composition, and light. It has been an amazing experience, and I happy to say that I will be continuing this program this winter as well.

Now not to ignore the adults, last week I did a talk for close to 40 women on how to better capture the images that are all around them. What dawned on me this year, I LOVE to teach. It is a thrill to see the spark I have photography ignite in another person. Coming in 2012 will be more planned talks and classes. If you have  a desire to get a group together for lessons, please contact ABP to get a custom lesson(s) scheduled.

Sun, blue skies, and smiling faces - A perfect day for fun and beach football too. It's been my pleasure capturing this family through the years. Hard to believe Miss A is in Kindergarten now and her brothers are so grown up too!

Meet Miss Chelsea - the newest addition to the K family. On yet another beautiful 80 degree OCTOBER day, we were able to take advantage of one of the many gems in Chicago, the Nature Boardwalk at the Lincoln Park Zoo. You would never know that the city was a buzz with post Marathon visitors galore, as we certainly felt the area was just there for us!
