Amy Boyle Photography Curates Windy City-Inspired My Kind of Town
Photo Collection for Logan Square-Based Shop 1021 Beginning 11/15/12

(Chicago, IL – November 9, 2012) -- Amy Boyle Photography, a Chicago-based  photo agency specializing in corporate, entertainment, architecture, travel, tourism and recreation industry clients in addition to personal portraits (www.amyboylephotography.com), has curated a “My Kind of Town” photo collection, exclusively for Shop 1021 (www.shop1021.com), a Logan Square-based retailer specializing in home décor and hostess gifts, beginning Thursday, November 15 at 2650 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL.

Boyle’s “My Kind of Town” photo collection, which premieres at Shop 1021 at a 7:00-9:00 PM reception on Thursday, November 15, is a hand-picked selection of matted fine art prints and collection of 11”x14” and 10”x10” canvases  of the City of Chicago seen from the lake, by bike and on foot, ready to hang or give as holiday gifts. Larger sizes are available on special order. Store hours are Tuesday-Saturday; 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Sunday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  The exhibition is open-ended.

Chicago retailer Ann Kienzie, owner of the toy store Play, opened Shop 1021 in June, 2012 to meet the gift and home decor needs of her existing client base shopping in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago.  Dark wood floors, exposed brick walls and tin ceilings serve as a dramatic backdrop to a signature collection of home and office décor items, books, stationery and specialty gift items.

“Shop 1021 is the perfect dramatic setting for my Chicago-themed collection of photography prints,” enthuses Boyle, who notes that she and Kienzie networked through CRAVE (www.thecravecompany.com), a resource for women entrepreneurs.  CRAVE is a global community which connects savvy business owners. Through online networks and in-person events, CRAVE introduces like-minded entrepreneurs and offers innovative ways to boost business.

Rejuvenating one's soul

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life..." -Henry David Thoreau, WALDEN

Three words that describe you - Grateful: I am so grateful for the times of beauty and grace in my life. I am also grateful for the awareness I am cultivating to notice and appreciate them. Hopeful: My hopes are high for my future, and that of my family and friends. Staying positive is such a powerful tool. Approachable: I love when people connect with me and share parts of themselves. What a gift!

Sugar and spice
and all things that are nice
That’s what little girls are made of

Almost two years ago to the day I photographed this families 1st arrival, Miss H. Today, I met Miss G! What a lovely family Joyce and Michael have created. Miss G was so incredibly alert during our time together; it was such a treat to capture her expressions. Her older sister entertained me with her dancing and I may have gotten myself another photo assistant as Miss H really loved the workings of my camera. :) Prepare yourself for sweetness overload...

9 months old already!

Another 3 months have passed and Miss R is really mobile and exploring her world - Her older brother Mr L is growing up so fast too - "Hi Miss Amy", "Cheese", "Boats" -

We broke up their 9th month session by shooting on location as well as more lifestyle coverage at home - These fleeting moments are just so precious!

"Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero."  ~Marc Brown

Mr. C now has a baby sister and wow does she dig him! His smiles and silliness makes her giggle and chatter back at him in such a sweet way. Darling Miss C (yes, they both are C's!)  truly adores her big brother!

I have been photographing this family for the last three years and being able to watch their family grow has been such a privilege. Time certainly goes fast, everyone tells you that. Documenting their  milestones and the simple joys of life, like riding the swing at the park, is something that I do not take for granted. Each time a session like this ends, I just smile!
